VINTAGE ADANA NOMADIC KILIM No 38 - 5'10"' x 7'6"
This is a hand-spun, handwoven kilim runner from the 1960, made by a Turkish nomadic tribe. Throughout the coastal region of Turkey you can come across groups of nomadic herders, the Yoruk. They come down to the pastures by the coast in the winter and travel up into the high mountain plateaus of Anatolia in the summer. Today many Yoruk have settled down to live in rural villages. Only about 200 are still living a nomadic life. They have retained their ancient skill in weaving sheep wool and goat hair into carpets and colorful clothing.
Material: 100% Sheep wool
Please note: This is a vintage item and you should expect to see evidence of wear, potentially some reparations and ‘imperfections’, which I believe add to the character and charm of the rug.
Please be sure to study the detail pictures to see the wear in the middle of this rug
Shipping Dimensions: 10"" X 36"" X 10""
